day 149:
i would like to think that i take my christmas decorations down in a timely fashion.
i don't take them down on december 26th, but i don't wait till january 26th either.
however, it seems like i somehow manage to forget one decoration up every year.
last year it was the framed snowman cross stitch thingy that hung by the back door. it literally made it till the summer before i even realized that i missed it.
this year it is the basket in the bathroom.
however, just like the snowman, after i realized i forgot it, i didn't do anything
i mean, i could pack it up, but all the decorations are already put away. i guess i could stash it under the sink until next christmas... which is more likely than me putting it where it belongs.
but for now, i'll just leave it.
day 148:
i love tights.
i don't know why, but i do.
mostly i love them with boots.
usually i wear brown or black leggings, you know, just something basic.
but today, today i wore my yellow tights.
people made comments. but i don't care. i have never cared what people said about my clothes. i have my own style. and today that included yellow tights.
day 147:
we finally went to the grocery store!!!
we kept putting it off, until there was really nothing left in the house.
the only problem with that is, we needed a lot of stuff.
and the only problem with needing a lot of stuff is, it adds up.
so after unloading/ putting away all the groceries, it was time to make dinner.
and i had frosted flakes. and they were grrrreat.
day 146:
not that i want my blog to turn into a place for me to brag about how amazing my husband is, but he always seems to do things that make me so happy.
this winter has been brutal (obviously). but you know what, it's been pretty easy for me.
tim does everything. and it seems like he is out there every single day.
if he's not shoveling or snow blowing, then he is on the roof or chopping ice. and once he is done with all that, then he has the chore of stacking the wood by the house.
today he helped clear snow from the roof at church, and then came home to continue working at the house.
i am so thankful that i can stay inside in my warm house, while he takes care of everything else.
(and did i mention that he cleaned the whole house yesterday?)
day 145:
today was an amazing day.
julia and her wedding party girls (minus the beautiful ally) went to pick out our bridesmaids dresses.
we had a blast. sharing the one dressing room between the 6 of us. trying on all sorts of colors and styles. we ended up getting a really great dress (that hopefully will look great when they alter the size 14 i ordered to accommodate my ever growing belly).
afterwards we went to the mill on the river for lunch. i think a couple of you may remember this place ;)
it is absolutely beautiful there. but it was a little too rainy and cold, so i didn't get a lot of shots before i headed for the car.

day 144:
i got these gloves for christmas, and i absolutely love them.
it's kinda hard to see in this picture, but they are not only fingerless, they are also longer than normal gloves.
so they keep my arms warm, but not my fingers. just kidding.
i love the length, because it works perfectly with my jackets with cropped sleeves. and i love that they are fingerless because i can still text and write and whatever else you can't do in regular gloves.
however, this morning i was wishing i had some fingers on my gloves. cause it was bitter cold. i took the dog out and thought frostbite might set in. i actually pulled my fingers inside the gloves so my palms could warm them.
but they are still my favorite gloves.
day 143:
i worked at friendly's for yeeears.
now, i can't help but get nostalgic every time i go there.
like tonight. when i picked up our sundaes.
i cringed a little when i saw the stained apron of the girl that waited on me.
i shook my head as i noticed the ice cream on her forearm as she turned and walked away.
oh and here's a shot of griffey. i couldn't help it. she was posing for me.
day 142:
i have had plenty of friends get pregnant.
but i never thought to buy one of them a gift, or send a card to say congratulations.
i always just said congrats and left it at that. if i was invited to a shower then i brought a gift.
but now that i am pregnant, i am realizing how nice it is to give a little gift or a card. of course it's not expected, but it is something that makes you feel special.
i have some mom (and dad) friends who know this, and in turn have made me feel special.
thanks to the switz for sending me a gift at work and making my day.
thanks to caroline for sending me a gift all the way from utah. i miss you!

day 141:
griffey played outside in the snow for most of the day.
then we went to my parents house and she continued to play with her best friend tawny.
well, needless to say, she was tired.
as soon as we got in the car she fell asleep on the floor.
i wanted to get a picture of her sleeping, but as soon as i took out my camera, she woke up.
day 140:
husband of the year fixed my sink.
it was not draining and really irritated me.
he said it was really clogged with these super long wavy hairs.
i'm not sure where they came from...
but i'm glad my sink drains now.
day 139:
we're not going to find out the sex of the baby.
we just thought that it would be fun to be surprised.
but one thing is for sure, if we have a girl, she will fit right in.
although, ryan might like some more boy company!
today was renee's birthday party... and there was no shortage of skirts, dresses, pony tails, and girly accessories.
all the girls had to sit with each other while they ate. cause that's what girls do. they do everything together... and that doesn't change. take for example trips to public restrooms. girls never go alone.
i love the picture of natalie helping to blow out the candles. she didn't want it to be renee's birthday. she wanted it to be hers. happy "not" birthday natalie.
but my favorite was of the birthday girl. she's so sweet. happy birthday renee. i hope you had a blast!
day 138:
the dog is going through a stage.
at least, that's what i keep telling myself.
take for example her stuffed animals that i once blogged about. if you're following, then you know that i wrote that she loves them and doesn't chew them.
well that has changed.
she chewed every last one of them.
now, one of her favorite things to do is push around all of the couch pillows/cushions. usually pushing them on the floor.
this is the love seat after one of her tirades.
like i said, she's going through a stage.
day 137:
well, my dog is creating prison weapons.
this was once a normal bone, but after some hard work, griffey has successfully made a prison shank.
i'm not sure why she has done this...
but part of me is scared to turn my back on her.
she could strike at any moment.
day 136:
today was the best day.
it was a snow day, so i got to sleep in.
then, i had a dr's appointment, and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. it was the most amazing thing. i didn't think it would be that cool, but i was wrong. it was awesome.
on the way home we stopped at cold stone and i got the best ice cream on the planet. cake batter with graham cracker pie crust mixed in.
as if it couldn't get any better, i gave in to my craving and had mcdonald's for dinner.
all in all, a pretty amazing day.
but the best part was definitely the heartbeat.
day 135:
i'm surprised i haven't posted about my wnec sweatshirt.
haven't heard of it? it's only the most important piece of clothing in my wardrobe.
i probably haven't posted a pic of it because i'm always wearing it.
however, the second most important thing in my wardrobe is my pair of slippers.
i wear them every single day... if not out of the house, definitely around the house.
but over the last year, i have ruined them. wearing them non-stop outside doesn't help.
so this year (thanks to my wonderful mother-in-law) i got a second pair.
yes they are the exact same pair as the first ones. and i promise to try and take better care of them...
so here they are... old and new.
day 134:
for those of you that have facebook, perhaps you saw the comment about mcdonald's french fries...
well, for the record, that is not the only thing i crave. and some of the other things are much better for me.
like milk.
we go through milk like crazy. it seems like i can't keep it in the house. i buy it, then it's gone.
so we started buying it in twos and threes.
that's right, threes.
day 133:
i know people get sick of the dog... but come on! look at her!
she had just woken up, and i couldn't help but snap a picture of her.
that ridiculous ear. and those groggy eyes. not to mention the messed up hair.
oh, to have the life of a dog.
and i suppose i could have helped her with her ear, but i didn't. i left it there and giggled at her for a good 10 minutes.
day 132:
it's true. my jeans are too tight.
i got my first official pair of maternity jeans yesterday.
and honestly, they are amazing. they are so comfortable. no more button digging into my stomach. (also, as an added bonus, no more zipping and unzipping when i use the bathroom. which is constantly).
the picture is a little blurry, but that's because i had to take it of myself in a mirror... not a lot of practice with that.
and for those that are following, this is my first appearance on the blog... i'm glad i got to share the spotlight with baby balut :)
day 130:
tonight we went to boston to have dinner with friends.
we also went to visit the newest addition to the lutz family. maggie lutz.
while there, we had an amazing dinner, played taboo, and sang karaoke.
not sure what was the best part.
maggie wasn't so sure about the karaoke.
day 129:
i love icicles. although, we don't have many at our house. which, i suppose, is a good thing.
it always amazes me how they are formed. i know that might sound dumb, but it's true.
they just start out as a little drip of water...
that's why the huge ones are so awesome.
sorry mine don't compare to those at the matt+julia household, but this was the best i had.
i think he's a cute little icicle.
